Alphabet of Thorn

It is like mother says, everyone we meet in our lives we meet for a reason.

I believe that very much with Mr. Knockemus. After a very disappointing set back concerning college I emailed him with the problem I faced. He called me today to make sure I was okay....it really meant a lot. He told me to check my email so I did. After a discussion on what I needed to do he left me this beautiful poem by William Stafford called "Ask Me".

Some time when the river is ice ask me
mistakes I have made. Ask me whether
what I have done is my life. Others
have come in their slow way into
my thought, and some have tried to help
or to hurt: ask me what difference
their strongest love or hate has made.

I will listen to what you say.
You and I can turn and look
at the silent river and wait. We know
the current is there, hidden; and there
are comings and goings from miles away
that hold the stillness exactly before us.
What the river says, that is what I say

I read in Cion's journal that something bad happened to you? Are you ok?

(Also, did you ever get the package I sent you around the holiday? I only worry because since you sent me such a nice card, then heard nothing, you might think i didn't apprieciate the card. I sent it to the PO box?)
Oh, yes, dear. I'm fine. Now at least.

Firstly, I did receive your package. Thank you so much! I adore it and it is sitting on a shelf in my room. (Well, on the shelf of things I term "All Things Pirate". :P) Admittedly I felt a little guilty because all I sent was a card. I do plan to make this up to you. :) Also, I'm sorry I did not thank you sooner. Life has been...well...hectic.

The entry was because I feared that since I did not take the ACT or SAT I would not be able to apply for college for Fall 2008. Fortunately after making a few calls I discovered I did not need them. So while William and Mary is processing my application I am now working on my app for College of Charleston. My advisor, Mr. Knockemus, from tech has been behind me all the way. Even through the ups and downs. It really helps to have a steady support.

My life aside...

Your book finally came out! When I was out at Barnes and Noble in Florence, SC the other day I tried looking for it there, but they were not selling it. My goal was to actaully take a pic of the book and send it to you simply so you would know it was on shelves here in SC. But like I said. No such luck.
:( Maybe soon though. :)

Anyways. Back to cracking on those applications. I swear the work is never done.
YAY! I'm glad I stopped by again.

Don't feel guilty, you've given me so many lovely things, you and Cion both have.

I am so excited...I hope that William and Mary accept you. They ought to, for certain. I am really, really glad you have Mr. Knockemus in your life. He's really awesome, and it really does help to have someone like him.

It might not show up on the shelves, because publishers have to buy shelf space. :( But I love the fact you wanted to do that. It means so, so much.
